That’s really all the app does, and it works very well. Once you’ve copied some text, it will be stored in a list which can be accessed in several ways. You can either click the app’s menu bar icon or use a convenient shortcut (⌘⇧C) to bring it up at the mouse cursor’s position.
There is no limit to how many clippings can be stored, and old ones are not removed automatically. This can be an issue, as the list will grow annoyingly long if it is not cleared manually. It would be great if users had the option of limiting the number of clippings to be remembered.
Easily send text back to the clipboard
Once the list has been accessed, you can either scan it for a particular item or use the included search function to filter the entries. Just start typing and anything that isn’t relevant will be hidden. Alternatively, you can hold down ⌥ while pressing Enter to paste the item directly.
Clipboard history and nothing more
Maccy is an excellent choice for users who want a simple clipboard manager that remembers text you have copied previously. It isn’t bloated with unnecessary features, and it is free and open-source.
